In Tongmu Village water I so pristine clean that can be drunk directly from river. It’s sweet and doesn’t have mineral ‘rock’ taste like water lower in theWuYi Mountain. This also affects the tea character.
 
Quality of teas in Tongmu is extremely high and compare to other, more fancy grades this red tea is somewhat more modest. Compared to most red teas however quality is still very high. Charming, sweet and very satisfying red tea with unique Tongmu character.
 
 
Tea was made in May 2024 from 30-40 year old trees growing naturaly behind the village with almost no human interferance. 
 
Tao Yun is a hybrid variety naturally occurring as a crossing of several varieties cultivated in Tongmu village over the centuries. Local people in the village refer to it as "wild tea".
