Genuine 'Factory One' teapot from 1970's. For serious tealover and collectors this kind of pot is extremely valuable. Therefore their prices are also getting higher.

But there are other reasons than their collectibility and historical value. These little gems come from the time when red clay quality in Yixing was rare and cannot be repeated. The way these pots enhance the taste of tea is noticeable and unique.

During the cultural revolution in China most of the teapot masters, many of them recognized artists, were forced to give up their personal work and they had to join the collective production for the masses. Many of the great makers were concentrated in Factory One and altho their work had to remain simple there is a big amount of mastery shining through these seemingly modest looking teapots.

Telovers are often sensitive people who cherish the rough beauty, therefore it is no surprise these pots are being widely celebrated.

*althou this pot is in very good condition, early teapots are often imperfect. The lid is not sitting perfectly, sometimes they don't pour perfectly straight and can be dripping.. and there are some cosmetic imperfections to. These pots were made for quantity and imperfect pieces were allowed to leave factory.

Please if you are looking for perfection consider this.
