These 1 kg bricks are from the same batch as 2008 “First Cry” cake. Although pile fermentation was done separately and for the cakes master used more premium selected material, tips and smaller leaves, while the bricks using bigger leaves and huang pian making bricks a lower grade.

These bricks never made it to the market and master stored them himself in a generic white paper.

He generously offered me last 10 bricks. I propose him if he could sign them for me. He happily accepted and instead of just signing, he painted a simple calligraphy on each of them plus he put his personal stamp on each brick therefore each piece is original by master BaoZhuo.

Taste is moderate, not earthy but rather with lighter tones and underlying depth that prevails.

It performs better when added little more leaves into a teapot. There is no bitterness and can be steeped or cooked.

* as tea lost some weight while aging each piece is between 940-960grams.
